I use ACB controlled hydrofoils to maintain the depth requirement i want. Just stick front and back of the sub some hydrofoils, put some ACB blocks that controls the hydrofoils on the vessel. Set the first ACB as "if vehicle main drive command is forward, set hyrofoils to -XX angle" set second ACB to "if at this depth set the hyrofoils to 0°" set the third ACB to "If there is a enemy set hydrofoils to -XX°", if there is no enemy around set hydrofoils to +XX°" set the last ACB to "if there is no main drive command set hydrofoils to 0°".
I think this will work but i dont actually remember the last time i build a sub.
You can find a lot of content about this on youtube, just watch and learn, its pretty easy to be fair if you dont want to use PID.

If i remember that sub its pretty easy to build, also you dont need those things what i was babbling about. It is pretty much easy to build a sub without ACBs nowadays. Just look at the latest video of Borderwise.

are ballest tanks needed?

Ah, I get you now. I remembered another ftd video that contained a very good looking sub. Oh btw, Typhoon class (which has the same name as me) is cooler in my opinion.

*two battleship boyz trying to design a sub*

Btw, you should start with a basic sub hull to learn the basics of the subs. If you go overcomplex with a realistic one, you might fail heavily.

Oh, can i take a look and upgrade your battleship, then upload it to the workshop btw. (I like refitting ships a lot)
