How do you see how far away enemies are?
I have a general problem with determining how far away enemies are. Is there any way to see a distance scale on the map?

you can just go into the designer, load in 2 ships with AI tell them to go to the corner points of a grid and then teleport to one of them and press C, then you see how far your camera / you are away from the other ship

I think a grid on the map is roughly 5000 meters long and wide, but not 100% sure, its some time ago when I tested it

Every grid on the map is 5km.

You can tell because that is how far away an enemy ship needs to be before you can begin a battle.

Thanks for the quick responses. That helps, but it might be nice if it showed the current scale of the map somewhere on screen when you're in combat on the overhead map.

difficult cuz the scale will shift based on zoom level.

Google Maps figured it out. Mapquest back in 2001 figured out how to do that too.

Press C and it will show you how far from camera are vehicles with AI.

Just write a lua code to display the enemy position and range in your ship, duh. I don't see the issue.

Some players might not have the first clue about LUA programming (myself included), so that tone is decidedly unhelpful and unneeded.

Playing World of Warships' ranked mode at 2 am, kinda tired and frustrated to say the least, sorry.

But, yeah, simple thing to do would be to use ACBs with range brackets activating or deactivating lights. There, simple solution to do.

Ye, WoW will do that to ya. Never played it, but did World of Tanks way back, such butthurts and rages (quite amusing really). I wonder if the "World of Angry Tankers" site is still running?
And even *I* could do that with ACBs!!!!! Could have lights turn yellow if >1km <3km and red if under 1km away.

Yeah, if you're willing to spend a bit more time, you could easily go with shades of colour or use holoprojectors to have a text illuminated by different lights.
