Marauders
So I'm going through the campaign again for the new update and I am noticing that Marauders are giving me a little trouble.

I don't remember them unerringly striking the ammo storage of my old starting frigate and I am surprised at the ease they manage to core out my new pocket battleship.

The 20k resources from the capture and salvage still balances out the 10k in damages to my poor 17k ship.

Is it just a different firing pattern or has the main gun of the Marauder been refined?

Improving the speed of your frigate and staying a decent distance away and staying away from the front of the ship will pretty much make in impossible for it to hit you.

no they have indead gotten more accurate, the advance cannons too but it is much more noticable with the cram cannons due to how slow and big their shells are. why thiss is happening is all due to the new detection system. how the past automatic detection system worked was the AI always knew all the info they need at all times, which worked against it at times with vehicles that move errectically. (ex. a fast ship that bobs up and down alot the AI would try to predict where it going at all times and would shoot when the direction of the bobbing vehicle was heading down despite it was going to head back up in the next second making it miss by a large margin.)

However now with the new detection system the AI based on the detection equipment will calculate the the target's speed and heading based on it's relation tot he current position and the previous positions when it last checked (since each detection equipment has it's own detection rate of when it checks what ever info that equipment gets) so how they see your vehicles is in the current postion and link it with the previous and prideict where you will be based on that equation.

so in conclusion they no longer predict your vehicle's speed and heading they are currently doing, but now predict your vehicle's speed and heading in a constistant way. so vehicles that moves erratically but keeps moving towards a general direction are less effective then before. (but vehicles that move erratically and changes where they are going due to it are still effective at dodging incoming fire)
