I think that would be against the spirit of the game mode.

i would understand that thats why i purpose they make it that the boat would have to be worth a certain amount of resources inorder to be allowed to be used

You can refit a boat from the "e" map. Just select the boat and then you can refit it. It's a bit messed up though. I ended up building a second ship with lots of storage and building arm things.. transferred all of my resources to that ship, and then refitted my original ship.
Remember to have a heartstone on the new ship while your original ship is being refitted.
You also can't make a second ship and then delete the original one. If the original one is gone, it's game over.
Also, save before you do this...

Early on in your raft, place the engine block pointing upward with one cylinder, carburetor, and turbos on left and right. right behind the heart stone. Place a chair right in front of the heart stone. Add a resource gatherer above the heartstone attached to the carburetor. You can add another on either side if you get tricky with the placement. Add some fuel, heartstone extensions and material storage, all this within a 3x3x3 cube. Prefab the 3x3x3 cube.

Go to vehicle designer and design a ship you have the material to afford in adventure game. Start your ship by placing the 3x3x3 prefab 'cockpit' cube that will remain unchanged as the heart of your vessel. When you have saved your design, go back to adventure and retrofit your raft. The 3x3x3 cube should remain unchanged.

If the game does destroy your cockpit during retrofit, perhaps because it's placement is very different within the ship, you can add an origin block within your 3x3x3 prefab cube. That should ensure no 'slippage'? in the blueprints.

Retrofitting is the way to go for your flagship, but you can use a blueprint spawner and some repair tentacles if you want to build an ai controlled ship to fight alongside you. The blueprint will spawn in the air and the repair tentacles can build the whole thing for you then you can set it to release only when the ship is completely built so it doesn't capsize in the water or anything if the blocks build in an order that does not keep the ship balanced.

Unfortunately if you try to build a second ship then set it to be your flagship, the game will still be over if you scrap the first ship. You must preserve the first ship so it is best to retrofit it into whatever flagship you need.

Another way to get your first ship built quick is to make it in one or more prefab blocks and connect them to your starting raft.
