Machine Gun Turrets

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what the most compact method to make a high fire-rate cannon is. The idea i'm going for is to mimic the M45 "Meat Chopper" and mount it on a gunboat. For reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M45_Quadmount. I can't figure out how to get a "bullet hose" level of fire-rate for my guns.

The custom cannon framework doesn't really support weapons like that at the moment. Multibarrelled custom cannons are about 25% of the way towards inclusion in the game. Your best bet right now might just be the autocannon from the simple weapons tab if you're looking for high rate low gauge firing, but you will probably find this to be a fairly ineffective weapon unless you're aiming at unarmoured targets, like wings

cant help wiht multiple barrels but if you want an extremely high fire rate with very good accuracy just make an extremely long barrel with a ton of autoloaders with ammoboxes attacthed to em

Hopefully in the future a new block will allow me to build cannons with low-damage but high fire-rate.

Nice gun! I'm going to try building that now and maybe downscale it to twin-barrel/single barrel.
By the way, you don't happen to make Factorio videos as well, do you?

Yes i did in fact make some factorio videos, however i pretty much got to the end of what i was able to do with it so i ended up droping the series untill it gets more content or some of the mods for it get more developed
