CRAMs and accuracy
2 questions about CRAM guns:
1)
When I fight things like Bullwhark and Thyr, they hit 80-90% of their shots practically regardless of range (I'm moving 20 m/s and turning most of the time).

My CRAMs have about a 30-40% hit rate against stationary targets like the GT's Sky City -sometimes landing over 50 meters shy (or past) the target.

So how do you make CRAMs more accurate?

2) Would adding a firing delay between the 2 (or 3) guns in multi-barrel CRAM cannons aid in accuracy at all? Or would it simply make it easier for LAMS to stop more of my shots?

I think if you're firing them yourself, that COULD be why, but unless this is AI-based shots you're describing, the AI targeting controller SHOULD do the work by itself... That's mainly from what I've read about AI controlling weapons, though...

For CRAMs I only take control myself for firing when the gun turrets jam in a certain position.
Everything else I leave to the AI.

Like I said, most of the stuff I know about cannons come from what I've read so far. Also, I sent you a friend request- been trying to get help for a ship build I'm doing and it's pretty massive right now; I also don't mean to go off-topic, just thought I'd let you know. :steambored::steamfacepalm:

1) CRAM shells seem to inherit velocity from the firing craft and the AI does not seem to account for it. Not sure, but it's my observation from firing a 20m/s bomb chute directly forward in a fast craft. Firing CRAM shells from a stationary platform should increase accuracy.

2) A firing delay will not aid accuracy, except possibly for the first shot, when the AI does sometimes seem to fire a hair to soon and miss initial volleys. But by game mechanics, no, a firing delay will not affect a gun's accuracy stat.

I use bomber which is 60m/s, alt around 400m, using CRAM's bomb chute to attack.
Its hit rate is about 70% for steady or linearly moving, big target. Sometimes it kills thrustcrafts or huge airplanes.
But I also think shooting from stationary platform would be better for accuracy.

CRAM's accuracy can be enhanced by extending barrel length.
Note that motor driven, elevation barrel reduce CRAM's accuracy.
Also, Check if your detection is running out of power or having a large "range and angular" error.
