Nuclear artillery?
Would it be possible to add through a mod a new type of advanced cannon module called "nuke" and have the resulting shell use the tactical nuke explosion or have the explosion scale with shell size/number of modules?

Would be unrealistic afaIk, but could be modded in, I suppose.

I'm pretty sure nuclear artillery was a thing before we had proper missiles.

It was, the Iowa class battleships had some nuclear rounds, though they were never actually used.

Hope we get it added to missiles, just make sure they cost alot. Maybe have to build them inside a special silo or something :p

...or you can make kamekazi thruster drones.

I did download one but it's too good. Like it's got crazy damage.

Require several fragile components in a row for it to work? I'd much rather get it for advanced cannons or CRAMs than missiles, simply because missiles are already super annoying.

Something like this for a grossly over-simplified dirty bomb setup

Primer
fissile material (more for much bigger boom but considerably more radiation)

Depleted uranium pellets(optional, basically a better version of regular frag warhead. Generates a TON of rads.)

Fuel canister (optional, allows the firestorm to keep burning on metal, stone, lead, and heavy armor, and last much longer all around.)

They only had one nuke artillery gun, a 280mm(11")

tbh it would be a waste, imagine a lucky hit to one of your magazines and if you hit them you won't have that many resources to recover

actually there are quite a few more artillery pieces that can fire nuclear rounds.
Just a quick google search later:
M65 Atomic Cannon
M110 howitzer
M115 howitzer
M109 self-propelled gun
M114 towed howitzer
M198 towed howitzer
16 inch Mk7 (Iowa battleship guns)

All of those could fire nuclear ammunition, and that is just from the US.

Edit: Here are some russian arty pieces that can fire nuclear shells:
2S19 Msta-S
2S3 Acacia
2S5 Giatsint-S,
D-20
2A36 Giatsint-B,
2A65 Msta-B
S-23
2S7 Pion
2S4 Tulip

I guess it also is worth pointing out that one of the arguably most well-known weapons like these was the M388 Davy Crockett, an almost man-portable launcher that can propell a ~15 ton yield bomb to about 10-12 hundred meters. The total weight of the weapon and its ammunition was a little over 100 lbs, which makes it technically man-portable, even though its technically fit for being operated by a two-person crew, or installed on an M113 chassis. The weapon was designed in the late 1950's, and if my memory serves me right, over a thousand of these were actually built. Due to multiple concerns related to safety and the very idea of using nuclear munitions on such a large scale, they never were actually deployed in battle.

Funny bits of trivia: Fallout 3's Fatman, despite its name, is actually based on this weapon, which one can tell even by some of its design elements. Also, Wasteland 2's Desert Rangers' base features a fully functional version of it in its museum. Pressing the big red button on it leads to some very expected, unfortunate results.
