What kind of shell is best for AA?
Just any suggestions from the community so I can make some decent AA shells, it could be Flak or HE or just straight armor pericing rounds with fragmentation that have a tremendous fire rate, just anything that is most effetive against air units.

It depends what type of aircraft you will be fighting. I like to use solid shot on guns smaller than 50mm, on anything larger I use HE. You probaly want a high fire rate

How does one make an advanced cannon with a huge fire rate?

lots of Coolers and Beltfed Loaders

Question: If I place down a 1m belt fed loader with 2m ammo racks, will the belt fed loader work?

no, since you can just put 2 1m Clips on it, have basicly have the same thing

No you can only use 1 meter clips on Belt Fed auto loaders. This means all belt fed rounds will be limited to 1 meter in length regardless of gauge.

For small gauges: Sabot (Because they provide extra range and muzzle velocity, good against fast targets)
For medium gauges : Flak
For large gauges: HE or Flak

All of them with timed fuses.

Frag can be useful too, but Fire Rate > Damage

what about altitude fuses? can they be used instead of timed ones? i heard altitude ones are better for aa.

Both are ok, I prefer timed fuses but altitude fuses works wonders too.

One more thing: If you have enough room, prefer 3 to 9 autoloaders than a belt-fed. Constant fire is a major factor if you will live or die against aircrafts.

Hm, I was wondering if I should go for true-to-life Sabot projectiles if I'm building a variation on Phalanx C-RAM as an anti-projectile weapon, or should I go for a more-cumbersome-yet-more-effective Gunpowder-Gunpowder-HE-Sabot, GAU-8-style. Also, so darn bad we can't use two separate Rotation blocks (one for horizontal axis, other one for elevation) and just "pipe" ammo through Rotation blocks as if they are Adv.Cannon 6-ways, would've been awesome.

I accidentally put too many regular ones and now it's an advanced shotgun XD it loads all shots at once and fires all at once.

is there a way to get cram cannons to aim ahead of it's target?

I have done some testing and found for smaller calibers (under 100mm) that a good shell is 8Xpowder, 1 basebleeder, 2Xsolid body, 1XAP head. This makes the shell go very fast, and allows it to be accurate, also the AP head allows it to punch through armor. This type of shell works best on something with a very fast ROF, I have it on 2 gatling style guns with 5 barrels each and plenty of magazines to feed them. I have tried this shell compared to HE and others and they simply dont even compare. It is especially useful for small fast craft. Now with bigger craft, with shields you need a bigger gun with something like APHE type of shells that use fuses.

Something Ive been trying is frag shells with a timed fuse on it with a small offset right before. It looks amazing but doesnt really do enough damage even on a small cone.
