[FIX] 2.4 Break your Ship? Try this
1. Stop hating on Nick and the other devs for this update. This is a kink, not the major game-breaking bug everyone thinks it is. It's just a matter of defaults being chosen poorly.

2. Look at the Maneuver (Manouvre) routine in your AI. At the bottom are submenus for Roll/Pitch/Yaw/Forward/Backward/Strafe/Hover. When you go into each, they open the PID menu. open them and change the diamond button from PID to Default or None. This should restore most of your functionality. You will probably want to add a Yaw PID to smooth things out and not "wiggle" so much when maintaining course.

I appreciate the help but I'm pretty sure most people are just waiting for Nick to realize it was too much a dramatic change and to go back to the normal AI for the time being.
This does stop my side prop thrusters from randomly turning on, but it doesn't prevent the main props from turning on and off periodically and my ship doesn't seem to turn. I do see the potential for the update, but I wish there was more documentation for it.

not hating, i want to like the update, but...

hop into the vehicle designer and just try some of the built-in campaign vehicles
a lot of them dont work correctly, seems pretty major *and* game-breaking

Will take some serious learning and getting used to ... same appears to go for the keepers of the lore XD

When we get our heads wrapped around it it will greatly increase the standard options I'd estimate. And if this is a neccesary framework for upping the tactical AI, then I'm willing to see this through.

Not hating.. just think it a really dumb move.

>removes resources because devs say they are too complicated for players

>makes ai 100x more complicated then the resources where

Do explain to me how this makes any sense^

don't tell me I am too stupid to manage 3 or 4 resources then give me an ai I am literally too stupid to configure......

There needs to be basic Ai added into the game now, because if this is going to be the norm then the game is officially pointless.... No one will buy because the learning curve to automate vehicles will be too high.

The faction team has been at work making updates for a while. Lots of ships needed/need some pretty hands on time (Grey Talons...so much work...) to fix.

I have gotten some functionality of my ships back after some testing. But it is too early for me to say it is too complicated or too buggy.
The FtD dev team have horrible public relations. They are on discord ONLY, left the forums dead and was never active on steam.
No documentation or tutorials. Heck the tutorials date back when the game first came out. So I do feel like the player base have the right to hate how the direction FtD is going.

Regardless, after exploring the AI system, the AI is largely the same. But the UI is so darn ugly, cluttered and filled with abstract symbols, it is a complete downgrade.
The options within options within tabs makes it hard to find anything.

The settings are largely the same. I have only found 2 new routines that is actually useful. Considering the rest of the settings have basically stayed the same, how does it manage to break EVERYTHING in the game. That is one heck of an achievement. Some ACBs also no longer work, namely propulsion complex controls.

All the built-in vehicles have not been updated either. This should still be in devtest and is in no way ready to be released.

At least some of the tutorials are far more recent than that. Quite sure there are APS-tutorials and such.

It's not exactly great, yea, but not quite that bad.

Well, at least patchnotes still seem to happen on the forum, but yea.

On the bright side, it's one of the few devs that actually seem to respond to bug-reports. At this point I'm kinda used to bug-reports being ignored entirely.
