From The Depths

Whats the largest known ship in From The Depths?
So, I decided to make a ship with one purpose: be the largest. I want to know what the largest known ship is. Not including spaceships or airships, just normal ships.

Are you limiting yourself to faction-craft, or does player-made stuff count too? If the latter, "big as hell".

Dunno if it is THE biggest (probably not), but it is my biggest

I would like to introduce a WIP ship into this
The ERNS Valkyrie
Length: 3280 feet (1000m)
Beam: 100 - 150m
Height: A lot

Bad picture, but the ship to her right is about 1000 feet long

Currently I am doubting my own sanity by creating a Juggernaut for my fleet that without me working on the aft section, is already over 1000 meters long. And knowing how I build, I'll be forced to make it have 2 smaller sections jutting off the side of it to keep it balanced. FML

If you want goofy ways to keep a ship balanced, use my stupid idea of an "extendo-keel" where you just put a bunch of lead on a piston (or many pistons, for a really long ship) and extend the piston to be as low as it can go. You can give it some slopes, armor it, whatever you feel like...but it's fragile with just lead, and requires deep water.

A friend of mine doesn't bother with keels at all, and just uses active thrust to control roll/pitch! His craft literally flops over the moment the power gets cut, but otherwise it is a good solution.

I tend to put them as secondary boats on the side, like a little bridge connecting to another hull off the side of the ship.
Lemme try to get an image to show that shows what I mean.

Like that for balance. Plus side is it adds extra armor and weapons. Downside is easy to shoot off.

So we're just gonna ignore the necro?
