How do you make missile interceptors actually fire at missiles?
Mine just fire whenever they have ammo and even if there is a missile in the air at the time they never target it

1) I assume you have a proper detection system with munition warners.
2) You don't use a Local Weapons Controller in this case, you use an ACB next to your missile controller set to fire weapon on "Hostile missile closer than X meters"

Okay, now they only fire when there are actually missiles, but they still dont seem to be targeting the missiles when they launch

Been having that problem often of late, myself.
I was told to put in prediction guidance and make sure there are no ejectors... didn't do much, though

I also kept having problem with targeting components on my missile, so I used two-axis turrent as much as possible. When I put one turn with other targeting component the missiles just flew like they had no targeting function at all.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question but using a turret with flak or HE is much more efficient than using missile interceptors :). Works too

Takes more room, and is more explodey.

I think the interceptors on this thing here work, allthough I did find their performance a little underwhelming - relies more on the interceptors being decoys as well as interceptors.

Oh, I see. Yeah, you could put flares on your interceptors which will draw any missiles, using radar, to them.

Nice ship, small and sleek, Very sexy.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there a head for missiles that turn the into interceptors, so like Radar but missiles tracker instead

The interceptors on that craft use them, yes. Takes out some missiles too, but many more survive - but are lured away due to the flare (or radar decoy? Not sure, been a while since I took a look at that thing).

Yep, Ive done some testing and having missiles with sticky flares seems to do a much better job than actually trying to intercept
