My ship won't accept resources in designer mode
I was making a mothership aircraft carrier thing in designer mode and for whatever reason, when I'm in it it won't fill it's resource storage. I have pressed f5 several times, and the problem remains. The only way it can fill it's resource storage to build it's little drones is to have my avatar in a neary vehicle and allow them to share resources.

Usually when you build a material storage, it generates material for the ship automatically.
Have you tried replacing the old storage with a new one? Because if you use up the resources or it gets blown up, like fuel, it will be completely empty and require the vehicle loaded in again or the storage rebuilt. Or at least that is what happens to me anyway.

Yeah I tried replacing the storage and doing all that, nothing's worked

An obvious one, but it begs asking:
You have resources activated for the designer mode, yes?

Is the mothership built with sub vehicles, such as part of the vehicle/ship itself is a entirely different construct instead of a singular one, and then you just put the storage on the side vehicle rather than the main?

Since the main post has said that the only way it works is if on another vehicle nearby, I already assumed they had it on.

Nope, it's not like a Twin Guard Mech or anything, the mothership just spews out little drones that fight by themselves.

In normal circumstances I would just say to turn the game off and back on again, but since it technically still works with another vehicle around, this is quite a strange case. I do not exactly know any permanent solution, but I can try giving something that may work temporarily:

Building alot of storages so there is a insane amount of materials to use and thus does not run out quickly,
always have a ship nearby to help restock it like a tiny resource ship by it,
try seeing how much resource it takes up and then add or remove specific things to compensate.

The only other thing I could think of that might fix it, is to just try testing it within the actual campaign, or similar setting outside the designer. Thus being able to test if it is just a designer bug, or if it is a permanent problem. For if it does not work in even the campaign, then the designer must be experiencing one hell of a bug. But it seems too much like a coincidence that it only affects a specific vehicle, rather than all of them. Since I have never experienced this event myself, I do not have anymore solution attempts.

I'm not sure if you found the solution yet, but in my personal experience, make sure your character is near the craft you want it to gain resources from. I've also made a carrier like vehicle before and ran into this issue and that was the solution for me.

I don't know why that happens, however i have figured out how to prevent it. Basically, on every sub vehicle, put a single storage block. For some reason, if they don't have storage, your character will forever try to give them resources till the resource fills up, but if you don't have storage it won't stop. So the only way to prevent this is to either have only one vehicle in a 100 m radius(idk why that is, i just figured it out) or to have all the vehicles have at least a little storage. Hope that helped
