Best overall engine
So whats the best overall engine you guys have been able to come up with? Lets say a 3200 power engine. Size and efficency.

Ive gotten 135 per unit fuel out of a 5x5x4 engine not including generator.

"Best overall" still depends on how high you value efficiency. Unless I'm building a very small craft with high power needs, I won't be happy with less than 400 power/fuel at 0.1 RPM. If you decide to throw powerdensity overboard, you can get 78k power/fuel, I think (there was some post on the official forum that has some crazy-efficient engines).
Whats you favorite? you gotta have a favorite. (also yeah super incline engines are insane but only from a purely theortical point of view. Kinda useless on the capaign map)

You want efficiency? Power? Cheapness? You can't have all three.

Turbo engines are most efficient, steam is least.
For this reason I load two (or three) fuel engines on my ships, one low RPM high effiency, and one or two 50-60 cylinder 2x injectors each monsters to power my shields and energy weapons in combat. It's not unusual to burn a hundred thousand fuel for my flagship and another hundred thousand for its escorts per fight, though where possible I use stealthy subs or cheap kamikazes and fighters to cut down on the fuel use per battle.

4x3x2 400HP engine, small size, decent efficency, incredible for small stuffs. Definitely my most used enfine. Also made a mod of it that increases yield to 800HP for being two longer.
