its usualy and LUA but having thruster turrets works fine as well.

You want four two-axis turret bases, one on each of the four sides of the craft. Make sure these are connected to a LWC. You also want a weapon component on them (I generally use just a Missile Controller) so they can actually target things. You will need detection equipment (a radar, sonar, or camera will suffice). You will need to attach propulsion components to these "turrets", so the vehicle can home towards a target. Make sure that the turrets have enough room to swivel on both axes. Finally, you will likely want a primary propulsion components on the main body, just to keep it moving. Now, fit it with an AI, an engine, and whatever payload you want.
Cost 500+nukes, moves at 90m/s, pretty much never gets shot down.
Doesn't need AI, just a mainframe and a detector (and LWC for turret).
I used small cannon because it's cheap, haven't had any issues with it.
Also used wireless snooper rather than something that needs LoS, also seems to work fine (but they may do an extra loop or 2 before hitting)
Use an ACB to keep the engines on (or turn on the spinblades on spawn) and another to make sure the nukes go off (in case it doesn't ram hard enough).
Note that the LWC will try to point the front of the turret at the enemy. I wasted over an hour failing to figure that out...
(if the turret is pointed up/down/left/right the drone will just loop around in the air)
There is McDread s ICBM 3x3 if you fit it vertically and the Medusa torpedo(dunno about dimensions)...
But the retaliator can easily be destroyed by regular torpedo spam from 1 large submarine.
What does yours cost though?
My drone can chase down flying squirrels and whatever, it just takes a little longer.
Since nothing hits it that isn't as big of an issue.
I went for minumin cost/parts so they can be spammed by a carrier quickly and cheaply.
Probably going to make a submarine carrier ;)
The max blast radius is fixed, but more nukes help vs harder targets...
I got my base drone cost down to 476, so 776 with 3 nuke. (what I'm currently using)
If I go from 1 spinner to 4 I can double its speed to 180m/s, but that adds 40 parts and ups the base (no nukes) cost to 619.
Also at that speed, because I'm currently using a garbage no LoS detector, the drones can get lost...
6-10 will take down a preforator (which costs 308k lol)
And by take down, I mean disabled so it can be captured and scrapped :)
Thyr takes more hits to disable (it's heavy+7x metal layers, probably needs more nukes per drone vs it), but also almost always get disabled before being too damaged/below 80% and sinking/etc. Actually that seems to happen to most big ships that get nuked...
Nuke drones are a waste of resources vs wood ships though.
Targets armed with proxy fuzed Flak-spam cannons seem to be the only thing with a >5% shootdown rate vs these drones...
