Do other nations fight eachother?
The AI nations fight you, and they send forces to you... but do they attack other AI nations? If so, they should, because then there will be many more options with war and diplomacy. I would list those reasons, but they are off topic.

I heard that they apparently some times do.
It is a rare occurrence, but yes, they will. However, the only time I have witnessed it first hand is when I provoked them to attack each other. I took a 150 OW garrison and pitted it against a 97 WF. While the Watch was picking apart the Flayers, I used artillery barrages to destroy the larger castle ships.

That's cool.

If you're talking about other nations actually sending their fleets to other nations in campaign mode, not that I know of but I (for game balance I think) will never happen.

Think of it like this. If you let the game run for... Idk a very long time and AI vs AI was enabled on campaign mode... The stronger factions killing off the weaker ones..... OW and DWG disappearing without you doing anything...

Yeah no thanks.

But if you're talking about AI fighting other vehicles in Battle phase, you can easily see this in the main menu taking place.

AI can fight each other but its a total broke since they will never resolve the battle (Which means factions cannot wipe each others out without player joining the battle)

However they prefer to NOT attack other tin cans and 90% they will just reinforce their territories instead of going on a hunt for AI army.

I think personally that if the AI could destroy other AI nations, they could then declare war on you when they gain territory, which would put pressure on you to attack first before they are extremely strong. Unless they have high relations with you, in which they would declare war on your enemies too.

Although I do agree it could be annoying for there to be only 1 nation remaining without you fighting, but I like to see war without causing it.

Yes, they do but sadly the A.I. can't seem to resolve the battle once it's begun that is UNLESS that you are actually with the battle when it happens. :(

I tell you what would be cool is if you can "watch" the battle from a safe distance. For example, if the OW and the DWG were at "War" with each other, you can select an "Watch Battle" option to see them fight eachother. You would ACTUALLY see them attacking eachother... although this might put a huge strain on a computer's hardware OR need a ridiculous amount of additional code... idk.

However, I feel that it should be noted that an faction that is at least of "Allied" status in the diplomatic status screen with the player would be able to go through that player's territory in order to attack an enemy of that said player. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever that an faction who is allied with you can't pass through your territory to attack one of your enemies.

Irl politics and certain policies of said politics, this is how things "should" work. Howerver in this game, it's kind of frusterating to have your ally basically like: "Oh... you are trying to fight the WF, but we in the OW can't pass through your territory in order to attack them because you have sectors that YOU own between us and that barbaric cult! Yet... we HATE the WF but you won't "let" us help you defeat them because we can't get to them!" :steamfacepalm:

This should also apply for any multiplayer as well, I mean... IF the same thing happening to the allied A.I. diplomatic system also applies to players and their units rule of movement, but HOW does this actually work? Can anyone explain that one? :?

So the AI can't win a battle even if they destroy all enemy ships?

eatsgreenpaint: "So the AI can't win a battle even if they destroy all enemy ships?"

I'm sorry, let me try to clarify: They CAN win, but ONLY if the local faction's fleets are in play at the time while in close proximity, otherwise they can't while out of play. The only way for me in my campaign to resolve this is to declare war on the OW (Which I don't want to as they are an ally!) and then battle both the OW and the DWG at the same time.

As Mrvecz said:

I hope that this gets fixed soon... I find that it kind of hurts the game, but thats just my 2 cents.
