How to get 60 FPS during huge battles?
Will upgrading to an i7 7700K enable me to spawn TONS of Tanks and ships and everything massive without losing frame rate? Right now, i'm running FTD on a mid 2011 iMac but next month I'll be droping $2500 on a custom pc and I want to know if I can expect a much better gaming experience in FTD with expensive hardware. The reason I'm asking is because a friend of mine told me that FTD wont take advantage of high end hardware specs. is that true?

DONT waste that much money for godsake

At some point, it doesnt matter how strong is your PC if the game Engine (Unity 4 and 5) cannot properly use more cores

Even the video card is barely used.

Thanks, but one way or another I'm building my dream machine. I'm still interested in knowing what I can do in FTD with an i7. =)

Yeah the problem is probably less your machine and more FTD...

I am unsure if nick changed this or not, but last I checked FtD is single threaded, which means that you may have some $3 billion decacore, but it will only use one core of the 10 available. It really wouldn't change much.

Nick cannot do anything about it, its the engine's flaw

Well Technically he can, he can upgrade to Unity 5....which he has done before, it didn't turn out well.

Unity cant handle 4 physical and/or 4 logical cores?

Unity 5 cannot do that either the way we expected it.

You are technically correct OP. An i7-7700k would be the best CPU on the market for this game, as it has the strongest single core performance.

You think I'll be able to spawn over20 (10000+ block) units among dozens of smaller ones?

Your best bet at doing that is an overclocked i7 processor, a 7700k model specifically, with a nice aftermarket cooler. Frankly, I have a similar setup and unforunately, the software the game runs on will limit you way before your hardware does.

yeah, I got a i7-7700k overclocked at 5.3. Runs pretty smooth
