How does EVA work?
According to the stat sheet I have a passive 95.56% on EVA at level 68. And yet I can get hit several times in a row despite it being highly unlikely.
While I concede that there is still a chance, it happens too often for the stat to be true. Sometimes the enemies are even some levels below mine.

So this got me thinking. Is it a 95.56% to dodge an attack, or a 95.56% increase to a hidden value that determines base EVA?

Eva pve wise is pretty much completly useless and judging from ur stat spread u invested a lot into eva and probably have very very poor def. Thats the reason why me and many others say cap def first then go fro hp: you never hear go for eva (shuri is a special case but wont elaborate on it) Do note that 95% is on the same lvl so if soemthing is 10 lvls higher then u it would be 80% (which is still rpetty high) the attacks that are hitting u are red carpets from bosses (mob red carpets i think are the same but not 100% sure) these red carpets CANNOT be evaded no matter what % ur eva is. So tldr ignore eva and cap ur def using all ur points until u can fort ur armour enough to cap it without points then put all ur pts into hp
But this also happens with lower level general mobs, not including "red carpet".
(red carpet attacks can be evaded but I think the chance is significantly lower)

From bosses red carpets cannot be evaded even if ur eva is 100%. It could be the lvl difference remember 1 lvl=1% so it could be the mobs hitting u are a few lvls higher then u thus making it lower also dont quote me but i think some mobs have moves that hit 100% of the time regardless too.

Dodged Ruth's debuff attack quite a few times.
But yeah, I guess EVA is... inconsistent.

From what I know, some mobs / bosses have some ACC(uracy) % to begin with, which would explain why even lower levels would be able to hit you more often than you like them to. Usually around 10-20% from what I experienced when playing with cap evasion (every 5th or so hit).

EVA % - ACC % = true EVA %. And like dmoe said, it basically scales down / up depending on the opposing level.

And like you said, not "every" red carpet is hitting everytime, but considering they are red carpet skills, don't rely on it and rather move a few steps o 3o.
