Steam or game issue? Can't properly install.
So I was wanting to get back into this game, and when I started installing it, steam wouldn't allocate the space to it. I tried clearing the steam cache and restarting the computer and all, but nada. And when I restart steam so it won't uninstall the game, it says it failed to get the key when I try to play it. Does anyone know what's up?

Start the download then when the allocation is almost finished, log out from steam. The download should start again when you log in

Doing that causes the following error to consistently popup when trying to launch, "Failed to request product key from Steam. Please try again in a few minutes." Been doing this for a couple days now.

Oh I'm with the same error.
I tried to launch from the Launcher on the game files, I'm creating an account now

Ya I know launching it from the install folder works, and I can just make a shortcut on steam with it. But I do like having gameplay time and other factors recorded properly XP I recall having a character previously on this game through steam, so if I did, I don't wana lose old progress.

Hopefully they fix whatever is wrong with it XD

This happened to me a few times. Nine times out of ten it is one of two things:
1. If you are like me and you store your Steam games on an external hard-drive, MAKE SURE THE CONNECTION TO YOUR DRIVE for both the power and the data cables IS SECURE!! My drive is a little old and the USB slot is a little loose so sometimes the cord gets a little bit loose. I fixed it by securing it with rubber bands and some tape; I have not had this problem happen since then.
2. If you are running Windows (especially 7, 8, or 10) the WIndows Update feature is a pain in the neck because it will often start installing updates in the background and it will need to restart to finish that BUT IT WILL NOT TELL YOU THAT IT NEEDS TO RESTART.

So try restarting your computer, and try jiggling your hard drive wires.

Another issue could be similar to to loose hard drive wires, if you are downloading on a wireless connection those are NOT as secure or as fast as a lot of people seem to think. If your internet plan says you get 40 Mbps, that is only if you connect over a CAT5 or CAT6 network CABLE. Due to the antenna hardware requirements, you still get a bottleneck with wireless such that the fastest wireless speed you will ever get is 2 Mbps download and about 0.5 Mbps upload. So try plugging directly into your modem or router with a network cable instead, to ensure a solid and fast connection.
