Lost account data

I played the game for a while, and all of a sudden, it didn't find my characters anymore.

The characters still exist; I can't create new ones with the same names, but somehow the game won't connect to that account anymore, and acts like I'm on a fresh, new account.

don't know about lost data but they used to freeze inactive accounts which you had to write a support ticket for to re-open them. also the names get recycled after 6 months of inactivity, your account's characters will basicly be renamed if someone else wants to claim a name that's on an inactive account, same goes for guild names.

The account data was lost when I exited the game itself to enter the character selection screen.

I did find a message in the initial screen saying that, if I played 'as a guest', my account adta would be lost.

And since they wanted me to log in using some social media account, I played 'as a guest'.

Why would they want my social media data anyways. Would my money be worth less then? Glad that I didn't spend any money on the game yet, which i did do in other games on Steam.

i've played this game since beta and i can tell you this never happened to me...

i have no idea whats that social media stuff or guest login about o.o
