6 months away and i think its fair to say those people ain't coming back.
some people group up but most don't, they like their peace and quiet.
i wouldnt risk to play and pay, thats what they want you to do all they do care is money and not community.
We have seen enough selfish devs. doing that.
its a pump and dump scheme, they lure you in and when you're timely invested enough, they toss you a curveball and make your f2p experience gradually get harder and harder until it reaches the point you can't proceed without paying unless you want to waste 15 hours a day on it, the grind just gets so dry and repetitive. every major update might seem cool at first but in reality its just all about giving player more reasons to pay.
in early days this game was booming and sometimes the servers were so full there was a queue. they also used to only sell cosmetics for real life currency but it slowly started growing towards companions with op buffs, armor/weapon buffing... these days p2w is just all over the place. they don't care anymore, now they're just mainly focusing in pumping as much from us as possible. their days are pretty much numbered at this point.
It's alive, but the playerbase is small(er) for an MMO; however, you won't have any issue finding people to do content with if you join an active guild in your timezone.
