If you think you will become bored I would stick with the basic game. The GC DLC divides the battles up. EX: Instead of two or more major cities or objectives being in one scenario the DLC will divide them between scenarios.
The DLC follows a more historical path, unlike the base game.
The DLC gets a lot tougher towards the end of the war.
I recommend getting it.
I am definitely getting it as I love this game lol.
And I don't think I'll get bored of it, what I basically meant is I will probably have to choose one or the other before I get bored of Panzer Corps in general.
The base Campaign, or the Grand Campiaign.
But it looks like the Grand Campaign is better in every respect anyways.
So it was kinda a silly question for me to ask in the first place I suppose.
So I'm gonna pick up the Grand Campaign soon and am eagerly looking forward to playing.
but the first thing I feel is disappointed.
Why?
Because the 'Grand' Campaign doesn't have it's own Campaign tab :P

Does it not look rather drab to see a listing like that?
I would have prefered the Grand Campaign to appear more integrated into the base game.
Like it currently is it seems more like a 'mod' or something, it should show up more 'grand' haha.
Is it just me?
EDIT:
And no voice acting? :/
I've only got 1939/Poland of the grand campaign, going to buy them piece meal as i've even played Afrika Korp or Allied Corp yet so a lot to play through.
I was looking at how the Grand Campaign links, and I'm confused about the whole East/West thing.
Because it looks like '43 East > '44 East > '45 East
and '42/'43 West > '44 West > '45 West
So do I have to choose a East or West route? I can't do both? lol
I mean whilst carrying my same unit's through.
I do know that someone said out of the Grand Campaign's 150 missions you'll probably get to see about 75 of them, but not sure choosing an East or West adds to 75.
Any input appreciated.
Choose east and you continue exatly from your 41 campaing end save with your prestige and units intact. You will need all of them....
These campaign paths are completely separate and once you make the choice they will not interact again in any way although you can choose to start the different campaign path at any time from the saved 41 core.
I can live with that :D
GC West is significantly harder, with some tricky scenarios, I wouldn't recommand it for beginers.
The GC is a long endeavor, I started one on Manstein diffciulty when the game was released on Steam in March 2014. I have finished GC West but I'm still at the start of GC 43 East. As I'm on other games right now it might takes more than an year overall for the 100 scenarios.
I started with doing the tutorial and immediately started the GC (bought all DLC).
At the moment I'm not even at the end of '40, to give you an idea how long it is. Of course not all time is playtime, got some pauses, but I'm surprised how detailed the scenario's are, all with a historic background.
In comparison to Panzer General II this game is so much longer. And I liked every sec of it.
However I'm loving the game and don't seem myself stopping playing anytime soon.
If I make it that far, I will probably choose east for my first run then.
Thanks for the replies guys :)
This is a truly awesome game, evoking memories of long hours spent in my adolesence playing Squad Leader, Panzer Leader, and Barbarossa. Worth every damn penny I spent!!
