Gazala Line mission.. impossible!!??

Is this mission part of the Africa campaign actually impossible. The enemy has massive air superiority, there units can defend like nobody's business (even the FRENCH!!) and you don't haven enough quality troops yourself to capture enough objectives!

I'm playing this one right now at Field Marshal. I have completed this campaign before.

Set up your best mobile forces to sweep around the southern end of the enemy line. I purchased a couple of new Pioniere to take out the minefields so I can attack the French from both sides. Once they are destroyed drive North and attack the enemy tanks behind their line. Be prepared for enemy groups appearing. If you get far enough the enemy will go into a general retreat - at which point kill as many as you can.

Cheers for the advice. I am pretty much doing that swinging south before heading north to attack the tanks from behind. My issue is then do i continue west and into the rear of the formidable British defence or do i head east and take the easier airfields and cities? No matter which way i go i get bogged down in fighting against defensive units that seem stronger than their stats suggest?

Once you have defeated the tanks go for the objectives to the East. You need the units along the Gazala line to start retreating Eastward. Then they are much easier to destroy.

If I remember correctly you do need to capture the french held objective at the southern end of the Gazala Line.

Yes i think you do for the retreat to trigger. I have not managed to capture the French held objectives and taken the objectives to the East. Thank you again
