Greatest German Honour - what is it?

Hi all

Today I got a tactical bomber with Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. The unit has 2600Kills/244 Losses

Is there a higher award or is it broken?

I own the Gold Edition

In the game I'm not sure, but it would make sense for that to be the highest award. Historically the only higher honor was the KC with Golden leaves, swords, and diamonds, but only one was issued, to Hans Ulrich Rudel.

According to the gamefiles there should be one higher award. Germany has 2 normal Iron Cross and 5 Knight's Cross awards. The last one is the Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds. It can be awarded to a unit with 3500 kills. Not sure how one can achive this but I think it's worth a challenge.

you can get it with 3000 kills and after that you can get another one (possibly at 3500).

EDIT: My mistake, I have two units with over 3000 kills and thought I had the one with golden oak leaves. That's the final one then, sorry for the confusion.

It seems there is another one after Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds that is awarded when you reach 3500 kills. When I get it will tell you...

If that's true and I had to venture a guess, it could be the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross.

As I wrote some days ago, I looked in the gamefiles of Panzer Corps, and there are only 7 awards for Germany. 2 Normal Iron Cross and 5 Knight's Cross. The last is the already mentioned 'Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds' (with 3500 kills).
You can check this by yourself when you take a look into the following files (with Notepad++):
- the files 'awards.pzdat' and 'strings.pzdat' in '/Panzer Corps/Data'
- the 'awards' folder in '/Panzer Corps/UI'

In real history there was one higher award with two classes:
- The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross (awarded 1940 to Hermann Göring)
- The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross with Star (only one was produced in 1939 and never awarded)

Now that I write this, I have the idea to make a mod for the last two awards. Should be easy with the correct pictures.

I thought another one could be possible because third slot is open but maybe is there for other army lists and not the Germans. Thank you for the research.
