Hints for the Clueless Mod-ibees
Is there a comprehensive, designed-for-senile-idiots, guide for how to add mods (such as "Pacific Corps") to Panzer Corps? It's not for me, of course (cough, cough), but for a ... uh ... 'friend.'

That depends on what type of mod you want to play. As far as i know there are two types of mods for Panzer Corps: Total Conversions (like Pacific Corps) or small additional mods (like the AMULET Mod).

If you want to play a Total Conversion you just have to download it and install or unpack it into a new folder. Never put a Conversion Mod into your normal Panzer Corps Folder. Let's look at the Pacific Corps Mod for example. You can find it easily via a simple google search. The Main Page of the Modteam (DMP) is in german language but it should be not to hard to navigate through the page. If you can't find it, here it is:

https://www.designmodproject.de/en/download/download/11-panzercorps/117-panzercorps-dmp-pazifik-korps

The Download button is at the right side.
When your download is finished, you can unpack the rar-file to any location you are comfortable with. It already comes with a separated folder, so no need to create a new one for it.
The folder should be named something like this: DMP Pazifik Korps 4.3
Inside of this folder you can find the same folders as in your normal Panzer Corps installation.

Before you can play this mod, you have to read the short installation guide, which you can find inside the folder "DMP Manual". After you have copied the correct files from your Panzer Corps Main folder to Pazifik Korps folder you should run the 4GB-Patch inside the DMP Manual folder and apply it to your PanzerCorps.exe file inside of the Pazifik Korps folder.

Now all should work fine and you can start Pacific Corps from your new PanzerCorps.exe file. Don't forget to change your ingame language to english if you don't understand german.

For the installation of small additional Mods see my next comment.

I mentioned in my last comment, that there is a difference between installing Total Conversions and small additional Mods. This small mods are mainly for changing your base game, but the can also exist as submods for Total Conversions.

Let's use the Mod mentioned in my last comment: The AMULET Mod.
This is one of my favourite mods because it adds tons of new units for the Wehrmacht and changes some functionalities of allready existing units. For example you can buy the Pz.VII Löwe or the Tankdestroyer E-25 in the very lategame, the motorcycle is available from 1939 and Grenadiers have now a defense mode.

To install this mod you need a small programm called JSGME: you can find the download and a very detailed install tutorial here:

http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27158

The download is at the end of the first post. If you have more questions about installation don't be afraid to ask.

When you are finished with the installation of JSGME you should have a new folder inside of your Panzer Corps folder. It should be named as you have chosen at your first run of JSGME. Mine is called MODS so I don't have to search for my installed mods forever.

Now the only thing you have to do is download a mod, like the AMULET, unpack the folder inside the downloaded archive to this MODS folder and activate the mod via JSGME.
It is also possible to activate more than one mod with JSGME, but be aware that some mods alter the same files so only one of this mods will load correctly.

If you are interested in the AMULET Mod, here is the download link:

https://www.designmodproject.de/en/download/download/11-panzercorps/128-amulet-mod

I hope this little guide was detailed enough for you. If not then ask me more.

Thank you, Glavnok, you have truly delivered! My 'friend' will be overjoyed when I... uh... tell 'him.'
