How to place the chickens?

Can't put them in the paddock and idk why. How do we do it? Ive highlighted them int he toolbar to place like furniture, I've interacted with them in the inventory, and i've tried closing/relaunching the game and doing it over. I don't know what Im doing wrong?

Also, can we hatch eggs? I had 6 and didnt want to buy any chickens, (found them in a crate somewhere), but ended up buying the chickens just in case.

Edit: Just click and drag them to the sides of the inventory where there's no squares/spaces, LOL. They'll drop then. 😅

Just drop them from inventory and don't touch eggs. They're going to grow if you keep the feed and water troughs filled

OK, so if I drop the 6 eggs I have, theyll just hatch by themselves and grow? or do i need to have at least 1 chicken to sit on them? Thank you, btw

Drag the chickens from your inventory to place them in the paddock. If you have 3 or more chickens they will reproduce, allowing you to kill the extra ones for chicken breasts. The eggs are a decent money maker if you sell what you don't need to the merchant. If you have 3 or more pigs in the paddock they will also reproduce. I usually don't kill extra pigs, I grab them and sell to merchant for a ton of cash.

Just 2 of each will do it for you, you don't need 3 to breed.

I sell more boiled eggs than most other early meals you can make, but yes you will soon be over inflated with eggs and selling them to the merchant is a fast way to make a lot of cash early in the game.

Once you hit the limit of animals in the pen kill all but 2 and start it up again.

the paddock seems to be broken with latest update. animals dont reproduce, water and feed not being consumed, still 10/10. only new eggs are coming. put 3 pigs and killed chicken and nothing. was working fine before latest update.

you will have about 50 eggs to pick up everytime you feed chickens. infinite and easy cash with chicken and pigs

there seems to be a spawn limit in the enclosure. animals will stop reproducing if you don't take some eggs
