Cup and plate shelves

Is there a way to actually hang cups or plates on these? It's not obvious what keys to use if so.

If you point your cross hair at the shelf, it should give you a prompt, to hold E to place them.

Yeah it can be tricky knowing how close you have to get and where to look in order for the interaction menus to pop up. I got stuck trying to get the menu to make the dishwasher (basic version) to show so that I could press X and move it.

....Im like 90% sure you just have to put them on the walls and have the items in your inventory when you get close to them....and then it should pop up on your screen.....so it should be fairly obvious xD
