Why I can't catch the puffer?

After completing the mermaid quest, I only catch crucian or trout.
Something wrong?

The "loot table" for fishing is diluted by the carp and trout after the quest, so you'll get less puffer fish on average. But you can still get them, at least. It's probably just bad luck.

night time is your friend for puffer fish. right off the dock next to the mermaid. That was the only time i was able to catch them. after the turtles showed up.

I found quite a few fishing in the swamp as well. Not sure if that was just luck of the draw.

Think you. I get two puffer.
I have this problem because puffer starts to appear after about 60 props (crucian + trout + other things).
I am not sure if this probability is normal.
Maybe it is affected by factors such as day or night?

I can confirm the puffer's loot table drops off quite drastically once you complete the mermaid's quest line. I went through almost an entire fishing pole, fishing for almost a full in game day and I caught approx 20 trout, 16 crucians, and 6 puffer. I fished all over the place to see if there were better opportunities in certain areas of the world but it doesn't seem to matter where I fish. This and having the ability to grow mushrooms really needs to get fixed. I'm trying to collect puffers for the 'Royal Delivery' quest and had I known that puffers would go extinct upon completing the mermaid quests I would have spent enough time collecting at least 3 stacks of puffers first.

Not being able to plant mushrooms in the farm is a big bummer. Running around for an hour to find some mushrooms to cook one or two recipes is totally not worth the time and reward ratio.
