How do you unlock the musket?

Can anyone tell me how you unlock the musket? Is it a quest item? There's no level attached to it.

It told me i unlocked it, mine is still locked in the shop and the crossbow.

Many things in the shop are quest locked, all the weapons besides the sword are included in that. The alchemy table and the fishing rod are also quest locked.

someone else mentioned that orcs/ogres (can't remember which they are) can drop crossbows. I did the coachmen quest, killed all of them in that camp and didn't get one but I'll keep trying. There's not a chance I can kill those bears with a sword on my own.

Weird, I think the musket was the very last unlock we got from leveling up the tavern (somewhere around level 20-22). We'd also done the deer, scarecrow, cow and coachman quest lines to completion at that point.
