Window Breakage & Rescue/Captures
I really enjoy some of the harder missions the game has to offer, particularly those with timers and huge ships. I love the feeling of swooping by a whole bunch of briefly confused guards, grabbing some object or person of interest from right under their noses, and then shooting out into space via window.

So it's very frustrating when, for what reason I don't perfectly understand, the person I've captured or rescued gets left behind when I break that final window, often dooming the mission to failure as I don't have enough time to blitz through again. Maybe 1/4th of the time the body (sometimes unconscious, sometimes not) I leave right next to the window does not join me in my space excursion. Could you please investigate why this is so inconsistent? If it's something I'm doing wrong, I'd also be happy to learn what!

Thanks muchly!

No offence, but I think you might be doing something wrong.. Have done the same thing countless times and I never had that problem. They're always sucked out into space together with me.

Maybe you're accidently killing them when trying to smash to window..? dunno

Off topic but your self-charging crashbeam is amazing, tyvm. Just used it to help me get one of your characters rescued. :steamhappy:

Interesting! I wonder why my experience is different..

They're always in the same room as the window when I attempt this, there isn't anything particularly weird about how I'm doing it. Maybe it happens more often when I break the window with a thrown melee weapon? I haven't really paid particular attention to doing one way over another.

Come to think of it, I've actually had a few times where I've broken the window and not had myself sucked into space, too, but this isn't as annoying because you can just walk into the void.

This is a wild assumption since I haven't thoroughly tested it further, but I think there's a bug when using melee weapons to break windows. As in, when you throw a melee weapon into a window and get sucked directly into the weapon in question, you'll suffer the effect of said weapon (i.e. bleedout or unconscious).

This ain't it. Tried to replicate the issue numorous times without luck. A wrench can bounce off walls and knock yourself out though.

Update: So I just had this strange incident where I tried to exit through the front window of a ship that was racing for a station, but instead of being propelled away I was instantly sucked back in?! (Same thing for the unconscious guy beside me.)

Could this be what's happening to you? That the ship you're trying to jump out off is accelerating so fast that you are just sucked right back in like I did.

Getting sucked back in is definitely possible, especially when rooms get destroyed. That's how I got the Objects in Space achievement.

That is an interesting thought... I do often leave through the front window, I wonder if this is what's going on!

nah it's a bug, OP. You want to Stand Further from the window than your captured person, and shoot it. if you're in front of them, the window will 'seal' with a shield the moment you go through it, leaving them behind....

or, run through it using the slipstream while carrying them... if that's still possible.

After a bit of testing it turns out that this is definitely a problem with the Foundry faction ships in particular.. If you try to jump out off the front window while they're 'racing' toward a station, they'll run you over. In a matter of speaking..

This means you aren't really 'sucked' back in, but rather that the ship almost instantly rams into you as soon as you enter space. In my tests so far this have had one of two outcomes; either getting slammed right back into the room I was trying to leave (commen) or getting bounced around under the ship for a couple of seconds before I'm thrown away (rare).

(Will do some more testing and update later.)

I had an incident a few minutes ago where I was bounced around and thrown away
