Is there a way to blow open a window from the OUTSIDE?
Ok, so I was trying a personal mission and frankly, it's impossible.

184 second timer to get through a ship CRAWLING with that many guards? In packs of 5? All with shields? With up to LEVEL 7 LOCKS, all of them on one of the guys in packs of 5?

No way.

Then I hatched a plan, a CRAZY PLAN. But a plan nonetheless.

Fly near a window near my target, eject from the pod, blow open the window, dive in, kill the target, jump back out.

...Only no matter how much I line myself up and fire my shotgun into the window from the outside, it doesn't seem to break...

Am I just doing it wrong, or do I need some kind of grenade, or possibly a breacher grenade to do this? Or can I do it with the foundry brick?

Geez this board moves fast.

Bump? Does anyone know how to pull this off , or if it's even possible?

yep, you can do it, but you need to use the Foundry Brick, there are other methods, but that's the most reliable one. (it's a pod you can unlock by capturing the Foundry main base that can crashland into other ships, but it sets their alarms off instantly)

OR: you can use this build: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1145324243

Use keygrabber, then sideswip to the next door repeatedly.if you can skip a couple of keys, then you'd get all 7.

Also, if you're getting L7 locks, you must be using one guy so much... time to retire him. and your getting no Liberty points for new unlocks. and you've probably figured out some way to subvert the perma-death aspect of the game.

Ok, so foundry brick. I'll see if I can unlock that ASAP.

You say there are other ways...Like what? The only other thing I can think of are Breach Grenades at this point.

And yeah, I've been using this guy for a while. For some reason it took me forever to unlock his personal mission. I think I might have failed too many missions with him or something. :s
With a long range key cloner, a high capacity personal stealth field, a regular gun to blow a window to escape/draw guards you could do this sort of mission easily.

Perhaps a sidewinder to really breeze through it.

Read my comment, man. look at my build. that's exactly what I just said.

Well, the build i've shown you in that screenshot. it's based on avoiding combat, rather than killing everyone. Or you can steal a second ship, and use rightclick on that toshoot holes in the targer ship, but like I said, that is an unreliable method.

I do have other ways, but I think they are bugs, rather than stratagies. I'm going to post about it to the Dev before I make it public Knowledge tho.

I did consider the avoid-combat build, as one of those is how I managed to clear my first personal mission. But my current guy got pretty unlucky in that department.

I have the Facepuncher and a silenced shotgun and a Slipstream which are amazing, but I am kind of lacking in just about everything else. Most of the teleporters I have have very few uses, and I didn't get a keycloner.

I suppose I can keep doing missions and trying to buy a large stack of limited use keycloners and siewinders...

YOU CAN DO THAT?! :o

I mean, it's not going to help my current situation, as I have a tight time limit for this mission, but holy hell that's useful for later missions. if I want to get crazy.

If you fail. Close the game and re-launch.

it gets you the achievement "think outside the box" too. if tha's all you have right now, then you might be doing something wrong; like not liberating stations. you get so many goodies in the shop from that. and if you've been running one guy all this time, he should be pretty well loaded in cash by now.

Soooo, foundry brick worked!

On the first try, I almost made it. I just had to line up with the breach in the neighboring room, and almost did it, but ran out of time.

The second time?

The target was in an outside room.

So basically, Revelation Fornacis aimed his pod at the guy the room was in and said "I have only one regret. That you will never know it was I who killed you. My name is Revelation Fornacis. You killed me mum. Prepare to die"

Boom. XD Didn't even have to set foot on the ship.

And I had just gotten enough gear that it MIGHT have been possible to handle the mission normally. But when the target is so temptingly presented? It's hard to resist. XD

I just submitted a bug report: I fell you shoud be able to shotgun your way into a window.
hmmm. maybe a grenade would do it. pretty sure a breacher will.
