Ran into some bugs.
At one point the game claimed I killed someone during a bloodless mission after I threw a wrench at a guy who clearly got knocked out, not killed.
If I leave a knocked out person in the airlock and take off with the pod, the body/person disappears when I redock. It will reappear on the ship if I take off and redock again.
No process pops up, no crash message, nothing.
Anybody know of a way to "watch" a program as it crashes, to see whats going on? This kind of thing has been caused by missing things like a DirectX version in the past, and seeing when the game fails might narrow it down.
Same here.
You can access it by right-clicking Heat Signature in your library, selecting Properties, and the selecting the Betas tab. Choose compatibilty-test from the drop down and steam should download the beta. You may need to restart steam in order to see the new beta.
This version will always start in windowed mode, but you can switch to fullscreen from the options menu.
If you do try this version, it would be useful for us to know whether or not it solved your problem and a brief description of the problem you were seeing and the hardware you're running.
To Clarify: the game itself hasn't ever actually opened. The most it gets to is the .exe showing in the task manager, but I don't even get a splash screen, or a window appearing.
Works fine on my Tablet (other than the controls not working well with a stylus), so it's narrowed down to my computer somehow.
Which... doesn't help much, huh.
And here's Speccy showing my machine: https://i.imgur.com/cTGckJm.png
I did however find a solution for me. I have a USB 3.0 Hub w/ a HOTAS/Throttle setup I leave plugged in, never given me a problem with other games, but while it is plugged in Heat Signature will continue to stall/pause repeatedly. Once I unplugged the USB 3.0 HUB it was no longer an issue and the game seems to run smoother now.
