Where did you read it would release soon? The 'Release Date' on the store page? I often think people misunderstand this phrasing by steam.
'Release date: coming soon' doesn't mean the game will be released soon. It means the release date will be announced soon.
What is coming soon? The release date.
So, expect it to say "Q2 2026" somewhere this season, and there you go, it was 'soon'.

Sarcasm aside, I honestly can't understand such a response. You must have been interested in the game since you wishlisted it. Why not leave it on the list so you'll get a reminder when it does release? Then you can still decide whether or not to buy it once it's out. It's not like the wishlist commits you to buying, it's just a list.
