Also, you can only get rid of the dialog box if you click the menu icon, but that then grays out the save button.
EDIT. And yes I was wasting my time. Using 'Continue' got me past that with the soundstage still unnamed and normal-ish gameplay then ensued until my pre-production shop had to announce completion of some upgrade research, whereupon the game failed to notify me but simply paused and wouldn't un-pause even after I tracked down the newly completed research and selected the next upgrade to research. So I've had to abandon the game. One of these days I'll get past 1936.
