I had a lot of fun with the demo until I ran out of money haha, anyway looking forward to the full game.

For the demo wouldn't mind a unlock mode of it with all skills/perks unlocked too see how some of the end demo features are fully or a custom settings mode/toggle
I do have a question, but is the demo intentionally meant to have you go bankrupt I did I just not.... play it right? hit like, post-1930 somewhere, dunno if I hit 1931 and that's just a hard-end for it all... but yeah. tried my best to get better quality people and fire the crappy ones and not overdo it with buildings.

Yeah, January 1st 1931 is the end of the demo and there is no way to play beyond it currently. On the money issue, most important thing with the financial restrictions right now is to not use the "good" construction company, but the one that only gives 50%. You'll save at least 1.5 million by always picking this one which is usually enough to invest in everything else you want to (unless you pay your actors and producers all 200 or 300k). Also look out for the composers, currently they are an insane money drain. I pay over 400k per year for the 2 starting ones. Don't hire more of them without firing a different one.

You can make money with crappy and cheap films too.

And you have to be aware that the cash flow of a movie production comes at its very end. I got bankrupt because I had too much movies in the same stage of production thus burning money too fast before the first film finally hit the screen and generated money. It was an issue of one or two weeks in my case.
Ace490 Jun 13, 2024 @ 7:00am
Yeah, on that issue I might have to add that you only receive the cash from movie tickets after every fourth week of screening, not like every week or so (although the earnings are calculated on a weekly basis). At times even that can become an issue of not going bankrupt.

I found this to be the case as well, especially if you put your cheap, crappy movie at a place in the release schedule with little to no competition.

I ran out of money just as the demo ended, was bleeding money slowly but surely, not entirely sure what I did wrong but I'll try again when full game releases.

Exactly the same happened in my first run. I figured out I had to keep a better look at my money reserves and expenses and needed a better timing of producing and distributing to have a more constant cash-flow.

Cheat codes? They probably come with final release.

Hi! I am very excited to play this demo. Hoping that you can give us a exact date of release date!
Gaimkore Jun 14, 2024 @ 11:10am
so what the best movie genre combo, and for that combo what is the best protagonist, antagonist, support cast, and so on.
Ace490 Jun 14, 2024 @ 11:58am
I honestly have almost no idea about how genre combinations influence movie scores, financial returns or production even after 30h of play time. There is just not much info on this to be discovered yet. However, there are obviously better and worse story combos. It would be way too extensive to outline all of them, but there are a few obvious one for simple starter movies.
Romance: hopeless romantic, rival, love interest, sweethearts stay together.
Adventure: daring adventurer, tribal chief, sidekick, search for treasure, protagonist finds treasure
Thriller/detective: detective, serial killer or murderer, femme fatale or damsel in distress, search for a killer or avenging loved one (in that case you can also go with love interest and mix it with romance), antagonist gets punished or protagonist heroically dies
Those are just a few, in general it is pretty intuitive. Keep in mind that you don't have to add an antagonist. Especially for romance movies you don't start with a particularly fitting antagonist role, so just pick other fitting story elements instead.
