We are sorry that you experienced a technical issue during the demo. Please help us fix this by reporting to this discussion to improve the demo.

Demo update

Before we start, let’s check if you updated the demo to the latest version. Open the Hollywood Animal Steam demo page and check for any updates in the queue.
You can also go to the Properties and check the date you updated the demo last time.

P.S. To avoid missing an update, change the ‘Setting: Properties’ in ‘Automatic Updates’ to ‘Always keep this game updated’

Let’s now switch to bug report.

NOTE 1: We highly recommend that you send game logs to [e-mail]. Logs will help us understand the cause and fix the issue as soon as possible.
Go here: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Weappy\Holly\, archive folder ‘Holly’ and send it to the email address.

In case the file is too big for email, please send us the files from this folder: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Weappy\Holly\Logs, archive folder ‘Logs’ and send it to the email address.

[UI]

Noticed a few small issues with text input boxes. First, in at least some of them, placing the text cursor/caret at the leftmost position and pressing back has odd behavior, such as moving said cursor to the right before deleting text.

Next, at least one (the film renaming input at the top of the menu in production, as I recall) doesn't allow you to delete all of the text, leaving the last character remaining, making it mildly annoying to rename the film.

[Tech] During my playing i've had trouble with the build menu as twice it has caused my game to freeze. At one point I hit escape and it opened the pause menu but i was unable to click and button and was stuck. I also had the game freeze when attempting to click to place a building. At that time it closed out of the build menu, but the button to open the menu was repeatedly flashing as if I was clicking on it repeatedly.

Also related; whenever there is a tutorial tool tip and you pause the game gets stuck

[Other] Not sure if it's a bug but in most management games with map pressing Shift while moving the camera speeds up the movement, but here it just stops the camera in one place

If you have more then one movie in production they get stuck in "production house" and "post-production house". They stay there until the game automaticlly shuts down, Cause you can save & quit

I am having consistent issues with films not leaving distribution. There is one film that has been in theatres for 11 weeks despite me trying to archive it repeatedly.


At a certain point of attempts, the language switched away from english and into a cyrillic language.


Unrelated to those, there was an occurrence where time did not progress until I reloaded. I was unable to recreate it.

Edit: It now is not permitting me to save and quit, the option is blurred out.

[Code/Tech] When game came to the point where it teaces how to unlock custom scenarios (I forgot the correct name, but it's the first research you do in demo) it just didn't let me click on the option. Right before it pulled me to that screen I pressed Esc, so maybe that was the reason for bug.

[Code/Tech] My computer meets the recommended components criteria for this game, at least the minimal for sure and at some point my game just crashes. Without quick or normal saves it becomes hard to keep progress. Reminds me of Fallout: New Vegas crash problem. I understand that this is just demo, but thought it could be useful.

(CODE/TECH) As much as I'm enjoying the demo so far, it has been crashing after trying to progress past the release stage. It has either gone completely black, or froze with the date and time options frozen in place with everything else blanked out. It has done with four times in a row.

[Code/Tech] CAn you save in the demo? Because I just tried and it wouldn't let me. I left, then came back in and all my progress is gone.

[Code/Tech] There is a blocker bug in the first minute of the game: When the game tells you to skip the time before film post-production will finish.. But if you click on the post-production building before its finish to edit the film - you can't exit from menu, and you stuck forever. Only alt+F4 is the option https://youtu.be/hJjmy2d456s

[Code/Tech] I had to build a screenplay department during a tutorial. I tried to choose a decent place and accidentally pressed right mouse button. Building circles and main menu button started to flash and I couldn't do or click anything.
