And it's been a while, but I think the way to avoid him healing is to be very aggressive and just beat him non-stop.
SPOILER
Later in a side mission you can fight a Maluca "brother" again
And it's also nice it has just 1 HP bar. Unlike some of unfair bosses later in the game.
1. he breaks your guard because you mistimed a parry or didn't dodge when he does a small handful of moves.
3.(and I have never personally seen this one in my game but I saw it in a youtube video) you run away to the other side of the map while he is guarding
him healing is always up to you and your fault. he doesn't just do it repeatedly apropos of nothing.
He did it to me just cause I ran out of stamina (not guard broken, just not attacking) and literally wouldn't risk attacking at half stamina in case something big was coming.
He does it more than in just those 2 cases (and hell you only actually experienced one so gg on that, you ain't even saw them all,I saw a vid where he does it right after the double jump slash, for no good reason since it was a no hit video,so no guard break nor other side of the map)
He also does it even if you stick to him at point blank without attacking, like when oh idk,you regen your stamina?
this is literally not what I said. you would do better if you let him hit you. if you got hit, he wouldn't heal. even if he does heal you can recover fast enough to charge attack and get a full combo dealing more damage than what he healed for. people shouldnt be seeing his heal all the time even if they suck. if you can't take the hit you should have more points in vitality.
The health pool isn't massive. Anyone who thinks this has not:
1. Played any other action game. Bosses die even slower in something like DMC 3.
2. Learned how to play the game. You should combo by using your entire stamina bar and some spirit attacks. Attacking once after blocking something is not how you play.
