Boss rush modes much harder than I thought
Man, these new boss rush modes are so damn much harder than I thought. I mean, we fight with limited armory, skills and stats. I tried one and I died 10 times ! I guess karma got me when I said the game was too easy lol

The same here I wasn't expected new modes will be that hard but at the same time I'm glad the devs are brave enough to do something like that. It's like I thought I was good but now when the game showed me that I'm not so good I realized it was all just stats and set bonuses.

skill issues
I just wish it was a post-endgame challenge and not something where you have to do several minutes of menuing between each boss. Lords of the Fallen did their boss rush better in terms of format, though it could have been a bit harder.

it would completely defeat the point of having a standard challenge and not something players could power through with grinding and cheat builds.

Really loving it so far but playing in NG+2 made me sloppy. I feel like I'm back to reality and getting my ass kicked.

Yeah, it's a little bit of a challenge to focus a build with only 50 points when I'm at 1.5 skill trees being maxed out in NG+.

Gonna have to sit down with paper and pen and actually plan something out to finish them.

Glad they put it in. Wish we got achievements for it, but can cope.
the short boss rush is not that hard, but it only gives epic coin.
16 Bosses full rush (totally 20 Fights, final boss doesn't have phase 3) will take too long time for each run.
you will get 10 legendary coins for each full boss rush or get no coin, once you die anywhere.
So, it needs to complete 3 times full boss rush to get all the new legendary weapons and sets for one save data.
I`m really disappointed with the bossrush-modes. What`s the point in all the flashy skills they implemented when u get limited so much in this post-game activity?
I love the difficulty. I always wanted to fight early bosses like yeti and viper without having overpowered gear and having to learn every single one of their attacks, and general's crucible is exactly that! it's awesome
The boss rush mode reminded me that Volby aint messing around, if you fail to stop floor is lava the run is basically over lol :D
I dont think i will complete this, way too greedy playstyle :D

I agree, but on the other hand! I'm 65 so these games are hard anyway. I got the plat trophy eventually (nearly gave up) and then played NG+ to see what the easier mode and phantoms helping with bosses was like. Well after struggling with the the first run, i now felt powerful and breezed through NG+, it was like a reward for the hard work i put in, in the first run. Never done this before but i decided to to do a NG++ run. The gear drops (crafting extra) skills etc made this a pure joy. I'm nearly at the end of my final run (there is no NG+++) so was excited the new boss rush modes.

Your comments "NG+2 made me sloppy. I feel like I'm back to reality and getting my ass kicked." is totally true. But was looking forward to to my new powerful build against a boss rush mode with my hard worked for, character and gear. I love the game but will now move on after this final run. I'll leave the new modes to the true heroes who really are good at these games. Thoroughly enjoyed my journey though, so no complaints.

You can use the stairs on the 2nd floor to avoid full floor lava. I did have a funny incident where I knocked him down and he decided to hang out on the bottom floor though. I had to go up and down the stairs to make him chase me again.

Interesting, are you sure you weren't holding on to the ladder when it made lava on one floor and (for example) one or more circles on the other?

I also tried to stay halfway on the ladder but I still died from the lava.

Other than that, I think it's best to pressure the boss and make sure to not miss the counters to get extra stamina.. if you can land a couple of reflects against the slow attacks it can make the fight a lot easier.

I already climbed the stairs by the time I saw the queue for the big AoE coming up and ran straight for the ladder. You won't get hurt from lava if you already gotten to the 2nd floor. I did this even in the ultimate challenge mode. He is supposed to jump to the floor you are at, which gives you more than enough time to fire off a charge combo attack on him for extra hits. This is actually where I ended up knocking him down because I already knocked his stamina bar to zero.

As for trying to make him chase me to the top floor again, I climbed halfway down and then went back up again, I did it about 3 times to probe the boss and see how he reacts. You can normally run up and down the ladder and he will chase you regardless of which phase you're in.

The small circles he can fire at phase 2 at almost any time, it is different from the entire floor AoE that lasts for a long time. He can do that on any floor, but will only use the big AoE on 1 entire floor.
