Given I looked this exact thing up through google 3 days ago, I don’t believe you.
Sigh.
Whirlwind does swift attack damage. For future reference you can tell what any attack does type wise by looking at the preview for that skill and underneath the skill name and above the preview video it will say what it is. If it says nothing, it doesn’t count as anything.
Bladestorm is a 2 spirit skill that functions similarly to whirlwind. You go up dealing damage on the way up and then come down and blades rain down. If you pressed an attack at the peak of the jump the blade storm gets enhanced. The blades continue dealing damage after you recover meaning this skill functions like inner fury on greatsword where you can recover stamina while still comboing the enemy or use that downtime to combo into slow damaging attacks like a charged potent blow for example.
