just finished ng+ without summoning and did not get it... hope they fix this soon...

I hope they do fix it. but i have a suspicion (that I hope is wrong) that they won't. There's a chance that their rationale is that because ng+ is easier than the first playthrough. there's less likelihood you'd need to use the helper, so it's less of an achievement. That being said, it's pretty sh*t that people get locked out of 100% for summoning it one time in their first playthrough because they assumed there would be an achievment FOR summoning it once.

Got this in first playthrough with no problem - same as best ending. Now I just start 3rd playthrough. :D

permanently missing an achievement for an entire save file because you wanted to see what summons looked like kinda sucks, but I'm not sure how they can fix it. maybe they can retroactively grant it? I don't know if the data is even tracked

Yeah it sucks, it's a hassle starting a new save file and start from scratch all over again. I thought i get an Achievement if i use summon for the first time and while this can be avoided by checking out the Achievement lists FIRST but getting spoiled because of the achievement descriptions kinda ruin my blind playthrough lol

Doesn't work on NG+. The game remembers that you summoned on NG. You need to start a new NG. Hope that helps.

I don't think it's broken. The fact that you can't get it in NG+ is likely intentional, since NG+ is SIGNIFICANTLY easier than NG.

That piss me off so bad, I thought there would be an achievement for SUMMONING it heck you had one for summoning the red one how does summoning the yellow one locks you out of an achievement for good??

but I saw this on reddit, I think they are aware and is going to fix it later this month:

”Thank you for patiently waiting for our response. First of all, we’re really sorry for the inconvenience. Our Dev Team run multiple tests to make sure all achievements work properly across all platforms, but we’ve received reports that some achievements occasionally don’t unlock on certain platforms. Rest assured that we’re currently working on fixing this issue. We truly apologize for the trouble this has caused.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that when the patch related to the ’Standing Alone’ achievement goes live, we’ll reset the history of Soul Assist summons. From that point on, if you complete the game without summoning any spirits, you’ll be able to earn the achievement.

Now, for those who have already cleared up to NG++ (New Game Plus Plus), don’t worry — you’ll still be able to earn the achievement. All you’ll need to do is defeat the final boss again (we won’t mention the name here to avoid spoilers — thank you for understanding), and the achievement will be granted.

After that, even if you didn’t meet the condition in your first playthrough, as long as you don’t summon in NG+, the achievement will unlock when you reach the ending.

I don't think this is a bug. I got the achievement after finishing NG and then tried my maxed summons. They are pretty weak and I don't think they will be a help in NG+ at all if you can't level them up further.
They intentionally seem to be an advantage for NG but no NG+
