Maluca Advice
Any advice for this boss? Is that string move (At the beginning of his second phase) blockable? I've attempted 100 times, no luck. Is there an item to prevent my health lessoning?

Jesus Christ, not to mention he heals

Just beat Maluca last night. I didn't count how many attempts but it did take me a while.

I used dual axe. First phase, just learn to dodge and rush heavy potent attacks. He can be staggered quite easily.

2nd phase: Learn the timing to brink block his hidden sword attacks, the ones that sparkles. You do them well, you get to break his posture and crit him fast. If not, just use a special parry skill or dodge. Brink block is stii the best option but it requires practice.

3rd phase: It is similar to phase one but his attacks has hyper armor this time. You can still spam rush potent attacks and kill him fast at the right moment.

4th You don't have to brink block everything. Learn to dodge and block normally and you can still beat it.

you mean the chaos debuff that reduces your health? i use the chaos exilir to remove the debuff, tho there is only so much of them to use (unless you somehow find a stockpile of them)
i am stuck on this boss as we speak as well
String move as in the cinematic 100 cuts move after jump stomp? You can dodge it. Timing is more or less when the blade shines. To prevent chaos status you need some chaos resist. Farm some gear with it if you haven't found any yet. You don't need entire set, just find a ring or amulet, it should be enough.
You can use chaos resistant jewelry to help avoid the chaos build-up that reduces your health, or you might have chaos cleanse potions or elixirs that can help, as well.

You can't block his initial teleport slash (the one where he goes slow motion)--you have to dodge it.

Fire enhancers help a lot.

When he begins to heal, you can stop it with a charged attack. It may take a couple of hits, but you can prevent him from getting the whole thing off.

When he does his flip back and slashes a line across the ground, he's going to begin his 9 hit combo. If you struggle to dodge/brink guard against it, you can just run away and he'll cancel it early, then go directly into a teleport slash.

Learning the timing of brink guarding or reflecting those teleport slashes is basically the whole fight.

Depending on your weapon/build you may have abilities available to make things easier. For example, the spear has a spirit ability called phantom heatweave that can guarantee a brink guard on his teleport slashes if used right when he sheathes his sword.

His move where he flips over you twice before slashing can end in him either running at you and slashing twice, or doing a delayed powerful swing, depending on how close he is to you after the second flip. If you're within range to be hit, he'll do the delayed slash, if not he'll run at you and do the double slash. I think the delayed slash is easier to avoid, as sometimes he can be just out of range and then take a single step in before doing the double slash, which happens a lot faster. If you can, try to stay close to him while he's flipping to make the timing easier on yourself.

Good luck.

Beginning of 2nd phase string move, you mean the 2nd attack after his jump slam that slows time? Just mash dodge when time slows.
Chaos Cleanse Potions to remove debuff. Blacksmith can craft them.
Brink guarding the sheathed Iai attacks staggers him and you can usually infinitely stagger him until you stop attacking. Sometimes he'll break out of stagger on the first one and do Iai again right after which will always stagger lock. If you ever manage to stagger him any time else don't be afraid to push for stagger lock.
