Reese!
Trokka was the first 'difficult' boss for me.. the rest took a few tries etc but eventually went down. Skalpel was next but the same.. eventually took a break and came back and killed him.
Hismar, very annoying but for the first time I switched my armor set out to drowned princess along with neck/ring that gave javelin boosts and managed to eventually take him down that way. Quite dragged out though.

I am now feeling the joy that is Reese... I can get through p1 quickly enough but P2... jesus wept!!!
IT
IS
ENDLESS

I had her down to about 5% earlier today and my hands were numb and I ended up getting hit by that endless long range dash she does and dying. Utterly infuriating!
I like the design of her etc but this whole thing of.. get the purple bar down.. 'RED' attack.. bar goes back up.. start all over... like how many times do you have to repeat the same process for so long.

I have seen a lot of comments about bosses with too high HP but this is the first one that REALLY stands out for me.

I'm level 145, my spririt is amx health/dmg and nearly maxxed stam.. and despite using consumables and throwing junk at her.... cannot kill her yet

It might be just frustration but it feels so unnecessary to drag it out this long. If its a difficult fight because her moves are really OP etc etc then thats one thing... but just this endless health bar/armor mechanic just feels so unnecessary.
It's like a 'fake' mechanic if that makes sense!

Anyway thank you attending my ted talk #gitgud:steamsalty:

You'll get it soon, if you haven't already.

Funny how that happens.. you see pages and videos about a certain boss being so hard.. and when you go in its like 'pewpewpewpew' .. anyway :steambored:
Less than 10 tries for me. Made it to Phase 2 first try but got distracted.

It's almost like there's a massive amount of different builds players can have with their own strengths and weaknesses, making them differently suited to each boss.

Reese p2 kicked my ass a bit until i just slowed down and learned her guard timings. The rhythm of it is consistent and actually pretty easy. The moment that clicked I obliterated her.

Lads.. im old and cranky.. thats my gitgud issue :steamsad: :steamsalty:
Strangely, I found her much easier than the drowned witch. Maybe its because I learned some of her patterns resemble the witch, but she was easy to stagger and countering her helps a ton.
Use reflection more often in phase 2 or if you want to play it safer, you can just wait for her to go for the red attack. I don't think she can break out of infinites or at least I haven't seen her do it.

Lmao, she was the only boss I almost one shot, she had 5% hp left first try.

25 tries later, I finally got her...

2° try for me, She was the only boss where I died only once, for all the others I lost count.. at least 20 each to learn their moves. Playing the NG with a decent GS build I had no major problems there.

I have to admit though that the build contributed a lot, especially with the Jar helm and the Maluca boss boots (Chaos something I forgot the name) I just had to defend at the right time to regenerate HP.

Ya great sword late game and ng+ actually gets stupid strong, you can stun lock the bosses until your stamina runs out or they do something like vipers tornado mid phase, which force you to back off

Reese first phase is one of those bosses you can stagger easily, and will stay staggered for a very long time. Whatever weapon you're using just figure out it's most spammable spirit attack, mix in stamina attacks to make sure you can combo for as long as possible without running out of stamina. You'll be able to nuke her first form down fast and just learn her second form.

I still don't know what her walls do or her yellow attacks, after beating her and fighting her many times

I assume it's a magic defence debuff

Yellow attacks should shock you I think? The walls will hurt you if you just sit on it while she's bringing it out, they also act as wooden shields almost that crack after a few hits. It will even block her own projectiles (just not the giant AoE) for a limited time.
