So many remnants of adversity are you supposed to kill them all?
I'm in the level where you go to the village, I come across so many summoning spots, are you supposed to finish them all? I already have 20 lacrima's farmed

you don't have to, it's extra loot and such

it's kinda like in nioh, killing all of them in every mission would be very time consuming

They are optional, but they give you good loot and a decent amount of lacrima.

They're optional. I believe they mostly serve as markers where people have died.

ah really?
Nah, you can farm them to get items to both summon the spirits for boss fights but also for leveling up the spirit so it actually lasts / does more damage etc
You can skip them and come back to any at any point

In Elden Ring you had spots where people die marked, so for some reason a lot of people assume that Spirits of Adversity in this game work like that as well. From what I can tell, there is absolutely no connection between players doing anything and the spirits. Unless they know some information I missed where the devs said it. But I've read their blogs and didn't see anything of the sort.

The spirits are just there to farm items for summoning. They're not linked to player deaths.
I recently got 100% achievements for this game and I never killed them outside of the required ones. I wish they were more impactful tbh.
Does anyone know what the network services for this game are? That's why I would assume at least some of gbe remnants are other players. You can see that flash of "connecting to network services" as you load the game up, been wondering about it. You can see it in Accessibility options as well "online settings" "select whether to play online or offline". But I haven't tested offline
No, i tried them few times, but it's not worth it, the loot is random, and not even of good quality most of the time.

Having played through NG and NG+ and started NG++, you're both totally wrong. You'll see lots of death markers around dangerous areas in NG. But as you progress through NG+ you'll not only see far fewer of them (sometimes no more than a handful per mission), you usually only see them either in areas where people get pushed back, or around dangerous encounters.

In NG, you'll see 10+ littering areas with elites or dangerous packs or traps. In NG+, you might see one or two in the same spots. I think a few are hand placed by the devs (similar to Nioh), but for the most part, they represent where players died, similar to Nioh.

And that's what really matters, it's a Nioh mechanic, not a dark souls mechanic. Every single mechanic in this game is something from either Nioh, or one of the souls-like games made by Koei such as Wo Long.

Khazan is not really a souls-like, it's a nioh-like.

Sure thing, your baseless assumption must be reality. There are definitely no other possible reason for that. It's not like devs would ever purposefully reduce the number of summoned spirits so that people who summoned a lot previously would have harder time. That's just impossible.

Considering how everything from gearing system to Kodamas is straight up inspiration from Nioh, I have strong suspicion these are just Revenants, and this game even has online mode in options

They forgot to copy the most important thing, Ki pulse, thats why this combat sometimes sucks ..

From what I've seen, the summon locations spawn randomly in preset locations. I don't know how it functions. If its from other players dying or not, I don't know, but there are some areas where you'll find spirit summon locations that seem unlikely to have been a player death-spot.

I'm in ng+ right now, and I see a TON of them, so not sure what that other guy's on about.

You can upgrade the helper spirit by collecting items from defeating them, as well as pick up one gear item per fight (normally). Defeating them can make the game easier.

Every mechanic is lifted from Nioh. furthermore, it's not baseless assumptions, it's easily observable in game.

It's probably people testing the system (in Nioh 2 there was a period where farming the revs was one of the best methods to farm gear) or hand placed by the devs.
