just wondering how hard is this game?
I was thinking about buying this game and was curious about the difficulty I've played a few difficult games some of the ones I've played that I can remember that I got pretty far in /finished are CODE VEIN, Black Myth, Stella blade, last two God of Wars on the second hardest difficulty, Darksiders 3, The Surge 2 and the last three Monster Hunter's.
there's a few more games I could list but most of those are shooters or RPG's and I don't think those are a good comparison.

so I was wondering how does it compare to those games difficulty wise? like for example of a easier or harder than any of the games I've listed.I'm mostly just trying to gauge the difficulty between to what I have played before. so I know how hard I'm going to get stopped and for how long.

I was also wondering how punishing is it when you die?

The game is hard, but if you are good with perfect blocking/dodging and you use skills, it's fine.
You gain XP when dying against the boss proportional to the damage you did, plus the game is quite generous there are quite a few save points. And the consumable that allows you to recover the souls you lost when you died costs nothing.

On NG, if you play on Normal (maybe without the Spear cause apparently it is easy mode), it's the hardest game in the entire genre. It's not even close. There is an easy mode though.

Black Myth Wukong is way way easier. Maybe the secret boss toward the end could compete with some of Khazan stronger bosses but that's it.

God of War 2018 played on Give me god of War difficulty (NG not NG+) is overall quite easier but I would say that the 1st 20-30% might be harder and some of the late game challenges like the fire world can give it a run for its money.

The Surge 2 isn't hard at all and doesn't compare.

Baring playing Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring at Soul Level 1 or maybe some other games in the highest NG+, you won't find much harder.

Its a mix of God of War/Sekiro/Black Myth Wukong. If you enjoyed those games, you will enjoy this.

In terns of difficulty, I found it challenging but not insanely or unfairly. The bosses can all be defeated if you practice and learn their movesets/get the timing down (like every soulslike), There's difficulty from easy to normal so if normal is too much, you can always drop it down.

Some bosses, you will probably get stuck on & struggle on-- but remember, so did most of us & its normal. GL

Black Myth was very easy on the whole and I'm glad this one is a bit harder. They both share a problem: sprawling areas littered with trash enemies posing no threat. I found that infuriating in Black Myth but thankfully in Khazan the issue is not so bad. (On your list, Black Myth is the only one I played)

Its pretty hard until you figure out how to play the game (roll for damage random bonus on your gear and stagger + combo the bosses to death), then it become much more manageable. On the higher end of the difficulty meter for the genre probably.

Having played GS and spear, there are bosses that are easier if you use one weapon rather than another. GS is fun for enemies who are aggressive in close combat. And the spear is the bane of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MAGES WHO RUN LIKE RATS. Although if you are good or master the game well, even the bosses that counter you are manageable.

For me, the game was hard but fun. Only complaint was that some bosses had way too much health bar therefore making the fight last too long, so if it took you many tries too figure it out, you just got tired of fighting him or her

the average difficulty in this game for most bosses is on the same level as the scorpion and secret boss from black myth wukong, its not too difficult and you can definitely go through it without too much trouble, you wont be spending an hour on a boss or anything like that lol

I didn't find the Scorpion boss I accidentally be lined for the main boss the area. but I did fight the secret boss that took me properly a hours or too to defeat him. I will admit I use the rock transformation to cheese a bit of damage found that out by accident too.

the second hardest difficulty on the 2018 god of war would probably be a good comparison of difficulty

the hardest difficulty on 2018 GOW is harder than this. monster hunter its difficult to compare but, things like alatreon and fatalis are more difficult but not really anything else

Very hard if you insist on finishing it without summoning spirits.
With summoning - not sure, never tried it.
If you've played Lies of P - Khazan is pretty much that, but harder in some ways.

Khazan is challenging game with a steep learning curve that eventually flattens in the 2nd half of the game. Most bosses are challenging to learn at first but the combat system is flexible enough that you have enough tools to deal with the threat. Boss-runs, from nexus to boss arena, are mostly short, which helps with learning the fights as well.

Very snappy and responsive controls, perfect dodge and perfect parry exist and should be used, quite forgiving so far on Normal.

It is rich to call the game "quite forgiving" when you have 104 minutes played. You probably have not yet encountered Viper, which is the first real boss of the game. Everything before him is just tutorial.

Anyway, the game is fair as far as souls-likes go. Bosses play by their own rules but a player has all the tools needed to defeat them. Even consumables are plentiful, relatively cheap to replenish and they are quite powerful if you find the right one to use based on boss' weakness. This information was previously hidden but should be in the codex as of the latest patch.
