are bosses immune to the electric debuff?

was using it against Skalpel with the lightning enhancer and concentrated lightning essence, and never did it stick

It does massive chunk of damage to him, so it does work. He also looses his stamina a lot faster with lighting on the weapon. You just won't get "burn" form it afaik.

im so used to seeing the yellow electric debuff on my stamina bar that i cant tell if its doing anything to bosses at all or if its just my combo damage

Although bosses won't be getting reduced stamina, afaik, the lighting damage works. You can test it by throwing a lightning bomb at him. But he can also be reflected and stun locked very easy, so I dunno if lightning damage has a point after you figure him out.
