active skills for spear?

whats the best active skill for spear build, i'm probably halfway into the game and only using one active spear skill as i really didnt like other ones, cant remember the name but its maybe called spiral thrust? the one you can charge with extra spirit, eagle wind looks good but the entire 3 hit combo needing 3 spirits is kinda too much, what do you use though? i like the passive spear tree but active skills kinda sucks

Trance is amazing, particularly once you can cancel anything into it. Spiral Thrust and Crescent Strike are both solid. Eagle Wind is pretty good fully upgraded if you can afford the Spirit. Shadow Strike is an excellent defensive option once upgraded. Afterimage Thrust never really impressed me over other options.

Phantom: Heatwave is another standout, but it can be Spirit intensive and may or may not fit your playstyle.

I can't speak too much on the equipment/set-specific skills since I haven't experimented with most of them. I'm currently using the Faded Memories set for Frenzied Cleave and while it's solid, I mostly picked it because it expands the basic moveset.

Trance hands down. But you need to learn how to spam it. When you max out the trance skill tree you can press square (swift attack) on PS5 into trance, R1 and sqaure, and then back to square, rinse and repeat.

damn dude i didn't know you can do that, i guess its increasing the damage too
