Problem with short freeze frame
Hello there.
I have the problem that I sometimes get short freeze frames and so far I have not been able to find anything that solves the problem.
Often it happens from time to time in combat (both boss fights and against small enemies) or even outside of combat.
The freeze frames then last about 1-2 seconds.
Apart from this problem, I have NOT noticed any other problems and the game runs on my PC without any problems (except for the problem mentioned above).

My hardware:
Processor: Intel i5 13600KF
Mainboard: Asus ROG Strix B660-F Gaming
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB 6000Mhz CL32
Graphics card: Nvidia RTX4080
Hard disk: Fastro MS200 2TB M.2

I play on 2560x1440p with the graphics quality preset: Max on full screen with maximum frame rate of 120FPS.
DX version: 12.
DLLS: On
DLLS quality mode: Balanced.
DLLS Frame Generation: Off.
Nvidia Reflex: On

There is something wrong with the shader compilation that causes this when a new effect is seen onscreen for the first time. In my experience, it went away when I switched from DX12 to DX11.
Mine is a split second, causes me to miss a timed dodge.

I'll try it out right away and report back later if the problem has been solved, thanks for the hint:mhwilds_OK:
Also, since you're on a 4000 series make sure you're not on the latest driver version. To my knowledge they're still recommended the december version for 4000 series due to some stability problems.

I don't know if it's just my imagination, but at the beginning when I switched to DX11 I had the feeling it would run worse than on DX 12, now I've been playing for a while, but I'm stuck on a boss so I haven't seen any new effects yet.

I'll see if I can maybe reset my driver. But won't that make the game run worse? Because the Khazan driver update is not yet available?
I mean you can roll however you want, but the devs specifically recommend the December driver for 40 series cards due to known stability issues:
