I am a decrepit old 43 year old man with deteriorated reflexes and if I can beat this game the true, legit, right way without relying on noob crutches (I used DW rather than the OP youtube spear/GS builds), you can do it too.

Especially if you are prime gaming age with peak reflexes, you have no excuse whatsoever. I beat his ass so badly on the winning attempt that I had 4 nether energy left.

If you are currently struggling with your SKILL ISSUES, I highly recommend stacking dodge cost reduction up to 55-60%+ as it totally changes the fight and makes it very easy to close gaps or get away. The dodge phantom is great because he will let you spam dodge moving in and out while still having enough stamina to do damage, and perfect dodges directly increase damage. Also recommend the Jar Head in conjunction with ring/amulet from one each of the Strategist/Cutthroat sets as those bonuses are tremendous value offensively and defensively.

Again, if you are struggling with this boss that I completely destroyed, it comes down to a SKILL ISSUE or simply not having your gear and talents optimized.

I'm tired of people saying they're too old and need the game to be easier. If you're in your 70s maybe, but at that point you're just too old for these types of games and should probably stick to turn based or card games. I'm 44 and this game is easy. You youngsters need to get your acts together if you wanna make it in the real world. Can't even beat a game how do you expect to beat life?

I'm older than you and OP, aaaaand I get double minus points because I'm a woman, which makes me enemy no.1 of current generation of gamers/souls-vets/whatever. This game particularly is on the easier side of all souls-like/somewhat-like-souls games I've played. It's not about the age, it's about patience and not taking stuff sooooooo seriously Another issue is that most people these days want instant gratification, no work required just gimme, gimme, gimme. Any sign of effort on the horizon triggers "it's unfair/too hard" reaction. Not only in games.

The fast paced combat alone puts it above dark souls and so on. Not sure why you claim it's on the easier side.

If you played a lot of games of this genre or any fast pace action RPG. This game wouldn't be too tough. It is usually the weak willed people new to this genre that couldn't get use to learning the games thru trial an error that have issues with the game.

Of course there is always the special kind that want this game to be exactly the same as the last game they played, can't adjust to a new system and claim the game is bad.
