Rangkus help

I can't craft any gear to help with the fire res, my executioner gear I found around level 30 but my current gear is high 50's. Not sure if the less in def is worth the fire res from the executioner set.

The timing of this guys attacks are just terrible plus all his aoe attacks that dont seem to be dodgeable; despite them being able to be dodged.

Is there a way to level up gear? How am I suppose to get a new set of executioner gear for the fire res at the level Im at. The gear system seems to be lacking based on what ive seen. Not sure what else I havent unlocked yet. I have no fire res gear I can craft; if I am missing gear schematics than I dont know where theyd be.

I don’t remember when it unlocks but yes, you can level up it by Augment Gear. You select you want to upgrade, then next select the gear you want to feed to upgrade its level.

As great as that is, and maybe it's just my luck, but I always feel like what I need in this game is always after the boss I need it for. Thanks for the reply, guess ill just keep fighting till i win

you shouldn't need fire res gear. his aoe attacks can all be dodged. is there a specific attack thats got your goat so I can upload a video on how to dodge or something in order to help? I know its frustrating to be stuck but maybe re-contextualizing your victories will help you progress. instead of focusing on winning or losing, focus on one of the attacks that hits you a lot. then say "on this attempt im gonna dodge that one attack" if you do that enough, you will eventually win.

all that said, if you really want an updated butcher set idk if you found the free butcher set in the crevice yet. if you stand at the blade nexas in the crevice and look behind where you spawn in you will see a giant chasm. on the other side of this chasm is an elevated area with a ledge on it.

once you get to this statue, there is an illusory wall

walk through it to get to a chest that has an on level butcher set in it

You can deplete his stamina by brink guarding his projectiles, then run up for a brutal attack. The fire is annoying but dodgeable.
And he's funny because he's fatrolling

Your optimistic views are much appreciated. I did grab the gear in the crevice before goat guy; think they're level 32. My current Gear is 55+. As far as Rangkus, it's his timing of his attacks + I believe this is the first boss in a while that is a person with regenerating fortitude. Most of his fire attacks get me, especially the jumping one after the spinning; I can't get the timing; but it's also a challenge to get to the point where I can make an attempt at avoiding damage from that attack.

I will bring guard those projectiles next fight! I'm having a tough time figuring out when to dodge any of his flamthrower attacks once he gets it out. It would only make sense that the gear level ups comes after I need it this is how I felt about not having poison resist gear before spider lol; but I managed without and I am sure I will with Rangkus; not like this boss will be the end of my Khazan playing.

After beating every boss in the game, I think Rangkus was my least favorite. Not because the fight was bad, but just because he has sooooooooo muuuuuuuucchhhhh attack effects that they clutter the screen and are distracting.

Whether it's him or his alternate version, fire tornado => DEATH, and there are also improved projectiles that you can't block unless you're invulnerable to fire. The only technique I found is to try to use skills to hurt him and have him change attacks.
