the entire area reset after fighting the bonus mission boss?

this is absolutely stupid, even though it gave me the warning i didnt actually thought a ♥♥♥♥ to this degree would happen, i can use the boss fights bonfire for the reset area but should i play the entire level again just to unlock every door and whatnot or just fight the boss and be done with it? do i lose anything jsut because the entire area reset?

The arena resets every time you go to the crevice. So no matter how many doors you open, it will reset the moment you leave.
And no, you shouldn't lose anything. All chests will stay looted and lacrima collected. If you haven't picked up soulstones or jarlings, you would need to re-unlock some of the things, depending on where they are.

You will lose some progress if you quit the game before interacting with the sword. So be careful of that.

fought the dragonkin boss, then immediately fought the blade phantom bonus mission boss and then dragonkin area reset but i still have the last bonfire before the boss so i guess im ok, but its still annoying i dont know why they chose to go with area reset mechanic because it doesnt make sense lol

All swords will stay, so you will be able to teleport to any of them at any point.
