But if you want to continue it's good life lessons in there to be had, like nothing comes free in this life and if you do something long enough eventually you get better at it =D
I didn't spend any extra time running around getting stronger, I just reached the boss with a natural progression. But there's a mechanic that gives you some extra Lacrima for each time you attempt the boss so you get stronger with each attempt, which is like a fail-safe mechanic for those that aren't naturally inclined to do a hardcore no-hit run.

Got him. It was looking bleak for a while, but I was getting closer and closer. Eventually I memorized literally every moveset and practices the hardest parts. I farmed 20k Lacrima total and leveled up Strength and Stamina.
In hindsight it was a very easy boss
That's true. I like to sleep on it. For example there's also a small boss when you start the game. I couldn't beat him the first day, but I could beat him on my first try the next day-
